Froggin Progress
After finishing the Reina socks this week I was in sock knitting mode. So on Thursday I balled the Dashing Dachs Froggin yarn and cast on. The June Woolgirl Sock Club was another pattern by Lisa Dykstra. Again she put in a new technique of a right twist. It is where you knit two together, keep the stiches on the left needle, put the right needle between the stitches, knit one, and then drop them off the left needle. Sounds difficult, but is very easy to do. Gives a bit of a cable effect.
Confession. I’m not sure what to think of the yarn. I like the yarn, it has been nice to work with for sure. But the colors are a bit bright. I think it just has too much going on. This pattern is much better suited to single color or a subtle solids yarn for the pattern to shine. It is hard to see it with all of the colors. I wish it had a little less black and more blue and green. I will wear them proudly though. They are hand knit afterall
Today I finished the first one:
I made them into an anklet sock. Most of the socks I have done are mid calf and I really wanted something shorter and that wouldn’t take as long to knit.
Ribbit ribbit.
