If she weighs as much as a duck…

Published by thiselfknits at 3:32 pm under WIPs

My daughter’s school is a private Waldorf school.  Only 80% of their operating costs are covered by tuition so that means fundraisers are necessary.  One of the big fundraisers every year is an auction.  Each family is expected to donate something and each classroom also takes a collection based on a theme.   I am knitting a pattern from Knitted Toys: 21 Easy-to-Knit Patterns for Irresistible Soft Toys by Fiona McTague.  I have the back and front done and I am working on the base.  Not thrilled about the seaming I will have to do later as I am normally an in the round type of gal.  I am sure it will be very cute though and my daughter will love it and want one of her own.  I need to have it done by next Friday, so wish me luck.

Oh and question for you all, I am knitting it with Rowan Organic Cotton.  I don’t want to use polyester fiberfill to stuff it.  Any ideas on what I can use instead?

We ended up going to Joann’s and finding a bamboo pillow form, cutting it open and using the stuffing from that. It worked perfectly.
