November 2008 Seven Deadly Spins Club

seven deadly spins spoilerI always love coming home and seeing a package from Woolgirl on my front porch. Today it was the November 2008 Seven Deadly Spins Club. And it is absolutely perfect for the Holidays. Click the link below to see the spoilers.

This month’s package was themed around Greed. The Unique Sheep handdyed a Merino/Tencel blend (Tinsel Toes) in a gold and silver colorway called Precious Metals. The pattern is written to make a beaded clutch lined in silk. Yum! It will be perfect for taking to Holiday parties. It sure is going to sparkle and shine when it is finished.

The pattern was designed by Laura Lough of the Unique Sheep. It is knit in three pieces and then brought together with the silk lining. I have never done any kind of bead work, so I look forward to once again trying something new. This club has been great for teaching new techniques and pushing me as a knitter.

The extras are fun too. Gold and silver chocolate coins, which mysteriously have already disappeared thanks to my three-year-old. A money book magnet and a money stitch marker by Sunneshine definitely fit the theme. There is also a package of bead, a button for the clasp, and a beading needle too. And some fun gold and silver bangles to accessorize with once you finish the clutch.

I can’t wait to start this project and would love to have it done for a date night planned for sometime in December. My parents are snowbirds and I can’t wait for them to be home for the Holidays so that the Knitting Scotsman and I can go out. Of course I still have a few other projects from my yarn clubs that I need to finish too. I’ve been so slow with my knitting lately, but hope to get many things done in the coming winter months.

The yarn is so darn nice, it seems like a waste to NOT make socks from it. It’s very soft and squishy!

If you don’t finish it in time, you can bring it along and work in it during our date night.

Thanks for the comment =) I really enjoy blogging, except for when I don’t – lol – it’s just the time that makes it difficult sometimes.
