October 2008 Woolgirl Sock Club

sockclub+button+spoilerI had a very pleasant surprise on my front porch this afternoon. The October 2008 shipment of the Woolgirl Sock Club had arrived! Click on the link below for spoilers.

It was inspired around a Japanese Cherry Blossom print that Jennifer saw last year. This month’s yarn was dyed by Jessie from Yarntini. It is so yummy and squishy. Yarntini can be a tough yarn to get, so I am very happy to finally get a chance to feel it in person and knit with it.

The sock pattern is designed by Chrissy Gardiner. It is a toe up pattern and has two different pattern charts. I’m not so sure about the toe up part, but like everything else I am always willing to learn something new. The front of the sock is knit in a Petal Lace pattern and the back of the sock is knit in a Cherry Tree pattern.

As usual the extras are yummy and good. There is a notepad with the Woolgirl sock club log on it. The notebook has a closure and a pen, so it is perfect for using as a knitting log. There is a Cherry Blossom tea from Tea Zone, along with a tea ball, and a sugar swizzle stick. The swizzle stick has already been claimed by my daughter :) . Jana from White Oak Studios created a red stitch marker to compliment the set. There is also a nice gift box from Biggs and Featherbelle (love their name, where does Jenn find these companies?) with a Cherry Blossom body butter bar and body soak. The sturdy box is decorated with cherry blossoms.

Starting next month (November) sign ups begin for the 2009 Woolgirl Sock Club. I will let you know when she opens it up to new members.
