September Seven Deadly Spins Club

Published by thiselfknits at 3:19 pm under Yarn

seven deadly spins spoilerI came home today and the September 2008 shipment of the Seven Deadly Spins club was waiting on my front porch. I was super excited to see it and was not expecting it for another few days. It was a very nice surprise. Click the link below for the spoiler :)

This months kit is Pride. The pattern is by Merike Saarniit and is a beautiful lace shawl. I’ve never done lace work before, so as usual this club is definitely pushing me to try something new. The yarn is merino wool and tussah silk blend. Yum!

The yarn is dyed in much the same way that the Gluttony sock yarn was, in a gradience effect. The shawl will gradually change color from one end to the other. The colorway is appropriately called Pride.

For the extras it came with Mama Llama stitchmarkers in the colors of Estonia’s flag, in honor of Merike’s heritage. There is also a little yellow, zippered project bag and a compact mirror that unfolds into a brush. Love the play on pride there :) It also had a little baggie of candy and a coupon for Woolgirl.

Here are pictures of the yarn:

Now I just have to catch up to all the other projects in my queue. Feels like I have so much to get to and not enough time. It is all good though. I don’t mind having large amounts of yarn stashed around my house.
